[POEM] Lost Connection

Louisa Leontiades Anxiety, Vile Depths

Strangers who met as if on a brief encounter.

I travelled your thoughts
Entered your fears
Experienced your desires
Embraced your dreams in my arms.

Then I turned away.
Such strength, warmth, loving
This life giving force
Denied to me for fear of darkness.

A stolen soul
Cloaked in a cold black heart
Suppressed by what once was
Will it ever be again?

Denial is my prison
Love is my fear
Hope is now
My only salvation.
